Jesus Is In Your Boat

December 4, 2014 | Comments Off on Jesus Is In Your Boat

Our Lord and our Savior, thank you for being with us and providing the strength, joy and peace that we need.  We give you praise and glorify your name.  For without you, we would still be lost in our sins and apart from our Father God.  Thank you for you sacrifice. Thank you for your love.  It is our hope that our lives can be a living sacrifice unto you and that we are humble and willing vessels for you to use.  Thank you for your favor and every spiritual blessings that our Heavenly Father has promised.  For it is in your name and because of your love that we pray and say thanks.  Amen.

“God’s Word assures you that Christ is in your crisis.” – Dr. Tony Evans

Mark 4:35-41 NLT 35 As evening came, Jesus said to his disciples, “Let’s cross to the other side of the lake.” 36 So they took Jesus in the boat and started out, leaving the crowds behind (although other boats followed). 37 But soon a fierce storm came up. High waves were breaking into the boat, and it began to fill with water. 38 Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion. The disciples woke him up, shouting, “Teacher, don’t you care that we’re going to drown?” 39 When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Silence! Be still!” Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm. 40 Then he asked them, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?” 41 The disciples were absolutely terrified. “Who is this man?” they asked each other. “Even the wind and waves obey him!”

I love this story of Jesus traveling with the Disciples.  This one in particular, because it shows just how easy we can be so focused on what’s going on around us and fearing for our own well-being, and forget that the ONE who has all power in His hands, is with us.

I may not know what storms are in your life today or what trials that you may be facing, but if you are a Child of the Most High God, if you are a follower of Jesus, if He is truly your Lord and Savior, then we must know without a doubt, that Jesus is with us.  And if He is with us, then who or what should we fear.

We must not allow our circumstances or what we see and/or hear, blind us to whose hands we are in.
I heard Charles Stanley say in one of his sermons: “God does not waste one moment of hurt, one ounce of pain and suffering or one test or trial.  He has a reason and purpose for it all.  He is Sovereign and knows exactly what is needed.  Either for us or for someone watching us.”

Romans 8:28 NKJV And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

This is why as Believers, we have no need to worry or fear or doubt.  Everything that God allows, has a purpose.  We simply need to continue to be thankful, grateful and faithful.  For God has it all under His Sovereign control.

Remember that Jesus is with us always.
