From Top To Bottom…He Knows You

January 6, 2015 | Comments Off on From Top To Bottom…He Knows You

Heavenly Father we give you praise with a thankful and grateful heart for who you are and who we are in you. Glory to your Holy and Righteous name.  May we represent you well today, for that is our desire.  In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

“I know you better than you know yourself. That’s why I want you to come to me with respect, and trust me to give you everything you will ever need.” – God/Jesus

Psalm 139:1-18 NLT O LORD, you have examined my heart and know everything about me.You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do. You know what I am going to say even before I say it, LORD.You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head.Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to understand!I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there. If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, 10 even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me. 11 I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night—12 but even in darkness I cannot hide from you. To you the night shines as bright as day. Darkness and light are the same to you. 13 You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. 15 You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. 16 You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. 17 How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! 18 I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me!

John 14:13-14 NLT 13 You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father. 14 Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it!

John 16:23-27 NIV 2In that day you will no longer ask me anything. Very truly I tell you, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. 24 Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete. 25  “Though I have been speaking figuratively, a time is coming when I will no longer use this kind of language but will tell you plainly about my Father. 26  In that day you will ask in my name. I am not saying that I will ask the Father on your behalf. 27  No, the Father himself loves you because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God.

Our hopes, dreams and eternal future lies with a God that has always known us from head to toe; inside and out. There’s nothing that we can hide from Him, for He Knows us completely and intimately.

Doesn’t it make sense to trust Him?  To rely on His Grace, Mercy, Favor and Love?

Of course it does.  What may be hindering us is the simple fact that like all children, we grow up to believe that we no longer need direction and guidance from anyone.  We are grown and can do things on our own, when we like and in the way we like.

Usually this works for us until we run into that inevitable “brick wall”, where we find that all that we have, is not enough to get us through or over our obstacles.

I encourage us all each day to recognize that being considered a Child of God, is not a statement of weakness or inability, but just the opposite.  It means we are empowered through Christ and by the Holy Spirit to be who we were created to be.  The image of God, indwelt with His character, led by His Spirit, to bring Him glory.

I like it!
