Deuteronomy 31:8 NLT Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord is the one who goes before you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor forsake you.”

There are indeed tasks and situations that seem beyond our comprehensions or ability to endure, but it is not so for our God. Can you imagine what the Children of Israel must have thought when Moses showed up with only a rod in his hands proclaiming that God was delivering them from bondage’s of slavery?  Or how the Disciples felt when Christ’s body was laid in the tomb?

We know the results of those events because we have the luxury of reading about them, however, if we were in those places at those times, would we have reacted like they did?  The answer is probably yes.  Even today when we are faced with insurmountable tasks for us, it is easy to see only the situation and forget the God that we serve and who has promised to be with us through all things.

I admit that there are many times that I am afraid, discouraged and doubt that I will be able to make it through the storms of life.  However, when I stop focusing on what I can or cannot do and remember what God can do, then the task or storm doesn’t appear as bad.  Notice that I didn’t say that the storm necessarily goes away, it just doesn’t seem as bad.  In fact, the more that I focus on Christ and His power, the smaller and weaker the storm becomes.

My brothers and sisters, don’t let the storms of life become bigger than your God.  If they do, then let go of your god and grab a hold of THE ONE and ONLY GOD. Our Heavenly Father. The Creator of All.  The Author and Finisher of our faith.  His son Jesus and the Holy Spirit will help us stay in His presence during our storms.
