Do You Believe What He’s Told You?

May 4, 2015 | Comments Off on Do You Believe What He’s Told You?

“Then quit trembling and trust.  Quit pouting and praise.  Quit running and rest.  Quit worrying and wait. Quit belittling and believe!” – J.C. Brumfield

Psalm 84:11 NLT 11 For the LORD God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The LORD will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right. 12 O LORD of Heaven’s Armies, what joy for those who trust in you.

What has God told you?  No, not what He’s told your spouse, the pastor, your best friend or even your parents.  What has the Spirit of God, spoken to your spirit, your heart?

Do you believe what He has told you?

In his trip to Rome, Paul told all who were on the ship:  22 But take courage! None of you will lose your lives, even though the ship will go down. 23 For last night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve stood beside me, 24 and he said, ‘Don’t be afraid, Paul, for you will surely stand trial before Caesar! What’s more, God in his goodness has granted safety to everyone sailing with you.’ 25 So take courage! For I believe God. It will be just as he said. – Acts 27:22-25 NLT

In the midst of all his trials, troubles and storms during his journey, Paul declared and proclaimed to all aboard,  that no matter what the circumstances, no matter what it looked like, no matter how they felt or what fears they were dealing with, God said, and therefore, he believed. To the point that even they, should not fear and have courage.

Wow!  What would happen if our Christian lives resembled this type of faith?

Nevertheless, we must have that same type of conviction, faith and trust in what the Spirit of God has said to us.  That is why a relationship with God, is greater than our religious efforts.  We must know Him for ourselves.  We must be able to hear His voice.

We must believe in Him!

Heavenly Father, forgive us of our times of unbelief.  You know us from the top of our heads to the bottom of our feet.  You know our darkest and deepest fears and sins.  Yet you are faithful in your love, grace and compassion for us.  Help us this day to hear you clearly.  And in our hearing, have faith to stand, to believe and obey.  For we thank you for never leaving our side.  We praise you for being our Faithful God, whose promises are true and everlasting.  It is in Jesus name we pray, Amen.
