A Better Gift

“God builds his kingdom primarily through ordinary people who are willing to use daily encounters to tell others about the salvation that is available in Jesus Christ.” — Anthony Campolo

2 Thessalonians 1:11-12 NLT 11 So we keep on praying for you, asking our God to enable you to live a life worthy of his call. May he give you the power to accomplish all the good things your faith prompts you to do. 12 Then the name of our Lord Jesus will be honored because of the way you live, and you will be honored along with him. This is all made possible because of the grace of our God and Lord, Jesus Christ.

I have found that it is when we begin to think of ourselves as special or better than others, that our witness and testimonies become worthless.  For if we were honest with ourselves, we would admit that what we have and where we are in life, is only due to the mercy, grace and love of God.

Paul stated in Romans 3:2-28, 27… Can we boast, then, that we have done anything to be accepted by God? No, because our acquittal is not based on obeying the law. It is based on faith. 28 So we are made right with God through faith and not by obeying the law.

Meaning, that if it was not for Christ, we would still be lost in our sins and trapped in a world without hope. But glory to God that we do have hope in Jesus. Who left Glory, to come to earth to suffer and give His life for you and me.  We must never trivialize, ignore or forget, His redemption on the Cross.  He suffered what we should have.  He gave what we couldn’t.

There is probably no other time during the year that our witness of what Jesus has done for us can be heard, than during the Christmas season.  Let us not be ashamed to let those in your world know, how you made it this far.  And share with all, the hope and promise of an eternal and glorious future with Christ. There is absolutely no greater gift.
